He was born on July 4, 1996, in Gada village in the Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh, India. He is the eldest son of the family and his brother’s name is Shaligram Garg. He is currently single and not married, he not planning to marry anyone and always wanted to live only for the service of Hanuman Ji. Shashtri was very poor during his childhood but he was very interested in Katha and Vachan. At the age of 12 he started narrating Katha to his village people and started his journey of being a priest. Shashtri says that during his childhood he saw a vision of Hanuman Ji and Hanuman Ji said him to develop at temple in Gadha(Gada) Village.
In 2008 Dhirendra established at temple in Gadha (Gada) village which is now known as Bageshwar Dham Mandir. The Dham is now popular pilgrimage destination in all over India.

- During an event he said that women who do not apply Sindoor are an empty plot.
- Shyam Manav once challenged him and said he is fraud.
- Nagpur-based organisation asked him to display mystical powers at an event but Shashtri ran away from this challenge.
- Congress leader Kawasi Lakhma challenged him to prove his allegations that religious conversion are taking place in Chattishgarh.

He is from Saryupariya Brahmin family in Gadha(Gada) Village, MP. His father name is Ram Kripal Garg and his mother name is Saroj Garg. His brother name is Shaligram Garg. He is the eldest son among both of them. He is not married so he do not have wife. His grandfather, Shri Ram Prasad Garg, was also a priest and a katha vachak. Dhirendra rebuilt the temple of Hanuman Ji and currently he is chief priest at Bageshwar Dham.
